Web page said order rejected. Customer service unable or unwilling to explain what rejected means or even confirm the status of the order in multiple calls.
After two weeks the order status changed from rejected to "cancelled at customers request". Metal prices going up $40 an ounce while the order was in limbo was probably the real reason they cancelled it. They charge $35 for cancelled orders so Paypal probably saved me from having my credit card charged for nothing.
The impression I got from customer service is that the people who work the phones are not in communication with the people taking orders on the web. Getting away from APMEX with no order shipped and no charges is probably the best possible outcome.
